I’m so very thrilled and blessed to have my wire wrapped version of the Princess Diana/ Princess Kate Engagement Ring featured in the October/November 2016 issue of Step by Step Wire Jewelry Magazine!! AND it made the cover too – woo hoo!! Denise Peck, chief editor for the magazine, also wrote a truly lovely intro for it.
There are a few ‘typos’ in the issue, that will be corrected in the digital version, but sadly it’s too expensive to correct and reprint the newsstand version. One of the most important ‘boo boos’ (aside from spelling my name wrong on the cover) is they listed my Etsy shop, MyWiredImagination.ety.com as having the wire for the project – um…. no! The resources should’ve read: Wire and Tools from RioGrande.com , Crystals and settings from MyWiredImagination.Etsy.com, and crystal beads from EurekaCrystalBeads.com
All in all, I’m really thrilled with how it turned out!! Look for the issue on newsstands starting Sept 15th!

My Fanciful Flowers Earrings pattern is featured in the Feb/March 2014 issue of Step by Step Wire Jewelry – WooHoo 🙂 I’ve actually known for some time, but it didn’t seem real until I saw the actual magazine for myself.
I am thrilled and honored to be included among the talented artists and designs chosen for this issue. If you don’t have a subscription to this wonderful magazine (you really should), check your local bead store, Barnes and Noble bookstore, or JoAnn Fabrics.
You can also purchase the single issue directly from Interweave.com .

Good Morning my pretties 😀 Well here’s a twist – no one correctly guessed the ring size for the ring posted Jan 23, AND Cindy never contacted me on the ring posted Jan 18 – guess she didn’t subscribe to my blog to get notified 🙁
Beverly Hoagland
Soooo – Beverly Hoagland had the next closest guesses (without going over) on both rings, and I decided to let her choose which one she wanted. She chose the Montana and Sterling. Congratulations Beverly!!
Sarah G
That leaves the Vintage Glass Opal and Gold Filled ring. After Beverly, Sarah G had the next closet guess without going over – Congratulations Sarah!! The ring is a size 5 ¼ btw. Contact me here on my blog, or on Facebook with a mailing address so I can get your new ring to you.
On to the next ring 😀
The next ring with the most comments and “likes” on Facebook is this one in 14k GF wire and Vintage Swarovski Crystals in Peridot and Tourmaline.
Some of the rings that will end up in this game, may have minor flaws that prevent me from selling them (I am my own worst critic) – this ring however doesn’t have any flaws; I just thought I’d add it to the game. 😀 It is a slight variation on my Marcella Crystal Ring 1 tutorial.
Sooooo – post your guess for the size here in the comments, and the first one to correctly guess will win the ring – FREE. Guesses are only valid here on my blog – 1 guess per person – and if you win a ring, please be fair, and don’t try to win another one for a month. There will be plenty of rings in the future, I promise. 😀
Have fun with game – don’t forget to subscribe to my blog, so you get notified as soon as I post a winner (it may be you) and a new ring.
Guess happy,
Bobbi
Perri Jackson!!
Happy Friday my Pretties – Bet you thought I forgot – nah, just a bit late.
The size for last week’s ring was 3 1/2 – The first person to guess it was Perri Jackson on Facebook – Congratulations Perri!!
For those of you who have come fashionably late to the party, the first person to correctly guess the size of the ring I post, wins that ring – FREE.
I am changing the game up a bit – part of why I’m late – I had several comments on Facebook, where folks were confused as to where to vote, and one full blown complaint (fortunately sent privately) that because guesses were everywhere, I “would cheat” and just pick whomever I like. That almost made me quit the game, but then what would I do with all these rings 🙂
Soooooo…. All votes are now here on my blog posts only. PLUS, you only get one vote – awwww, I know – but on the upside, I won’t wait til Fridays to post a winner and a new ring – more like every 3 or 4 days. How’s that? 🙂 You can vote for the next ring in the game – each time I need to post a new ring, the one with the most comments will be the next one in the game. Please don’t post your size guess in the comment, it won’t count. Rings that will eventually wind up in the giveaway can be viewed here on Facebook.
Have fun with game – don’t forget to subscribe to my blog, so you get notified as soon as I post winners and a new ring.
Guess happy,
Bobbi
Happy Friday – Time For “Guess My Size”
Courtney Tucker!!!
The size for last week’s ring is 7 3/4 – The first person to guess it was Courtney Tucker here on my blog – Congratulations Courtney!!
Simply put… Each Friday I will post a new ring to This Week’s Ring in “Guess My Size”
The first person to correctly guess the size of the current ring posted will win that ring, and I’ll send it to you – FREE.
Every Friday I’ll announce the winner for the week and the next ring in the game. You get 3 guesses per ring – One on the current week’s blog-post if you’re subscribed here on my blog; One on the current ring picture on my Facebook, and a 3rd guess IF you share the current picture or post somewhere on the net and let me know about it in a comment here or on Facebook – the share can be on your own blog or Twitter or Pinterest or Facebook or whatever social media you prefer.
So your vote doesn’t get lost, please only vote on the current blog post, or on the current ring photo on Facebook.
Happy Guessing,
♥Bobbi
“Congratulations! Your design has been selected for the second round of judging in Fire Mountain Gem and Beads 2012 Swarovski Elements Jewelry-Making Contest.”
What an awesome way to end the year!!! Normally a trip out to the mail box is just a depressing assortment of bills and spam – not today….. I got a letter from Fire Mountain Gems!!!
As soon as I saw the return address I started a little jig in the yard – of course, I quickly stopped, so as not to frighten the neighbors lol.
I am so totally tickled *insert big cheesy grin here*
Last Year was awesome winning a Finalist slot in their 2011 challenge – Here’s crossing my fingers in hopes to do it again ~~~ Wish me luck 😀
Happy New Year everybody!!!
Bobbi
“The goal isn’t to live forever, the goal is to create something that will.” ― Chuck Palahniuk
Good morning fellow jewelry junkies – are you having a good holidays? Mine have been okay, though I’ve been having to deal with some ugly personal issues, but that story is for another day, and not what I’m writing about today.
Some of you may have noticed the ring sale I have running in my Etsy Shop – now even though I’m saving for a good video camera to do video tutorials (Santa skipped my house), and taking advantage of my sale would be really cool, that’s not why I’m writing today either. 🙂
Aside from needing a video camera, I started the sale because I realized I’m buried in rings. You see when I make rings (and all jewelry in general) I don’t really make them with shop inventory in mind. To break it down, I’d say about 50% are made in developing new designs for tutorials; 20% I make for myself (though I really don’t need any more); and the other 30% I make just to see what I come up with.
While I was (am) photographing and listing pieces, I’ve run across quite a few, that for one reason or another I can’t “sell” them. To me they have some kind of ‘flaw’, and I would hate for someone to buy them and notice the flaw, though I am my own worst critic (I’m told), and the buyer probably wouldn’t see a flaw.
In any case, I can’t just throw them away – they are all made with good crystals or gems and Sterling Silver and/or 14K Gold Filled wire. Soooo, the reason I’m writing this post (you knew I’d get around to it sooner or later) is to have some fun with them.
Simply put – You guess the ring’s size, and I’ll send it to you – for FREE. Yes, you read that right – for FREE, the first person to guess the size of the current ring offered gets that ring, no strings attached. I’m only going to post one ring at a time – when someone wins it, I’ll post another one (I have about a half dozen or so right now, and I’m sure I’ll add more). If you’d like a sneak peek at some of the rings that will end up in this game, I will post them on my Facebook Page in the photo folder “Guess My Size” – note: the order of the photos is not the order they will show up here, hee hee.
You’re welcome to comment on the photos, but guesses posted on rings other than the current ring won’t count and will be deleted. I guess that would be a rule – there has to be rules right? Rule #2 – You have to subscribe to my blog – that’s to your benefit too, so you get notified the minute I post a new ring in the game 🙂 Rule #3 – You only get 2 guesses – one in a comment here, and one on the Facebook post – if you post more guesses in either place, I’ll just use your first ones. That’s enough rules right? Play nice so I don’t have to add anymore 🙂 For a third guess at the current ring offered, share this post on Facebook, and let me know in a comment here or on Facebook 🙂
The first ring up is Sterling Silver and a Vintage Swarovski Crystal that WAS the color ‘Seal’. The ring was in the tumbler for only 5 stinkin’ minutes, and all the color’s gone? See the ‘flaw’? 🙂 As a rule, short spins in the tumbler have no affect on the crystals, but not for this one I guess. I suppose I should be grateful to find that out now, but I paid an awful lot for those crystals to have the color come right out :(. Other than that it’s a great ring – have fun, and Guess My Size 😀
See ya soon – good luck,
Bobbi
