Eye of the Hurricane, Wire Wrapped PendantIf I had to pick one element predominant to Florida, I’d pick hurricanes. Though they can be devastating, their immense power displays incredible beauty with a mesmerizing swirl. The primary project uses a large crystal in a ‘sew-on’ type setting, but since not everyone has access to those; variations are included for using a coin bead or plain round beads. It’s also easily adaptable from a vertical pendant, to a horizontal focal, and even to a focal/clasp on a bracelet.

I’m so very thrilled and blessed to have my wire wrapped version of the Princess Diana/ Princess Kate Engagement Ring featured in the October/November 2016 issue of Step by Step Wire Jewelry Magazine!! AND it made the cover too – woo hoo!! Denise Peck, chief editor for the magazine, also wrote a truly lovely intro for it.
There are a few ‘typos’ in the issue, that will be corrected in the digital version, but sadly it’s too expensive to correct and reprint the newsstand version. One of the most important ‘boo boos’ (aside from spelling my name wrong on the cover) is they listed my Etsy shop, MyWiredImagination.ety.com as having the wire for the project – um…. no! The resources should’ve read: Wire and Tools from RioGrande.com , Crystals and settings from MyWiredImagination.Etsy.com, and crystal beads from EurekaCrystalBeads.com
All in all, I’m really thrilled with how it turned out!! Look for the issue on newsstands starting Sept 15th!

At some point or another, every jewelry maker considers making a gemstone ring. These tutorials will help turn that idea into a reality.
Check out my post on Craftsy’s Jewelry Blog for 8 great tutorials to make gemstone rings.
My Fanciful Flowers Earrings pattern is featured in the Feb/March 2014 issue of Step by Step Wire Jewelry – WooHoo 🙂 I’ve actually known for some time, but it didn’t seem real until I saw the actual magazine for myself.
I am thrilled and honored to be included among the talented artists and designs chosen for this issue. If you don’t have a subscription to this wonderful magazine (you really should), check your local bead store, Barnes and Noble bookstore, or JoAnn Fabrics.
You can also purchase the single issue directly from Interweave.com .
Thank you for stopping by! See ya again soon!
There is 15 pages with 74 full color, clear, crisp detailed photographs, which can be enlarged to more than 500% without any loss of detail or clarity, and 26 steps covering 3 variations, for both the visual and instructional learner. Almost as good as having me sitting right there with you. Measurements are given in both inches and metric.
This is a mid-level beginner tutorial – You should at least be familiar with basic jewelry tools, terminology, and simple skills such as creating a basic loop. Direct hyper links for tools and materials are provided.
Materials suggested for one basic pair of earrings (additional materials listed later in this tutorial):
One pair crystals or gems in OPEN BACK sew on settings aka Montees – size and shape is your choice. Crystals in Settings
20ga round wire, half hard.
One pair earring backs, aka ear nuts or butterfly backs.
Flat nose and/or chain nose pliers, round nose pliers.
Wire rounder aka cup bur on a stick, or file to smooth wire ends.
Ruler with millimeters.
Bail pliers, Pin Vise
20 or 21ga square ½ hard wire, standard ear wires

Good Morning Sweat Peas!
We finally have a winner for the ring posted January 31st, 2013. The correct size is 6 3/4 and the first person to guess correctly was Anna – Please contact me either here or on Facebook with a mailing address so I can get your new sparkly to you.
When I get caught up on my “chores” I will check the folder on Facebook to see which ring has the most “likes and comments” to be the next ring in the game.
Don’t forget to subscribe to my blog, so you’re notified as soon as I pick the next ring in the game “Guess My Size”.
see ya soon,
PS Sorry you didn’t contact my Anna – Congratulations Pam Sinclair!!
